Where it began and where it is going......

Picture
Henry is and has been the driving force behind our farm programs, he was born with a rare genetic disorder called Leukodystrophy. Leukodystrophy is a disease that affects the brains white matter, spinal cord and peripheral nerves, this means that Henry must rely on a wheelchair and others for all aspects of his life.
The farm has had such a positive impact on Henry and given him a purpose where he is part of a team, working towards a vision of sharing all the benefits of the farm with others, but life can be hard, having a disability can make it harder!
Seeing the benefits of farm life in Henry's life and having a safe and accessible space was something that we wanted to share with others this has grown to now include workshops and farm tours so that people can benefit from the space we have created.

Values and Goals
Picture
Offer a safe, encouraging, enriched, and empathetic space where with the help of our wonderful farm family facilitate to enhance well-being, relaxation and learning.
Enhance a sense of social community and teamwork for everyone involved.
Continue the journey of learning to bring new knowledge, build on existing skills and continue professional development.
Encourage others to become part of our story and draw from it to be inspired to help others. “From little things, big things can grow”. (Paul Kelly)
Our goal to the environment is to develop flora and fauna corridors through a revegetation plan, replanting along the water way, and on the surrounding hills, improve the use of resources such as water and composting of manure, reseeding pasture, eliminate waste streams all which will help to contribute to carbon storing and offset against the farms greenhouse gas emissions and help with environmental protection/erosion, add biodiversity and improve the aesthetic value.
We believe that the land we walk on is a blessing to be cared for and nurtured and not something to take for granted, we are learning new ways to reduce impact, our values speak clearly about caring, healing and offering a peaceful environment, to trash the very land that you walk on would go against everything that we believe, however it also cost money and a huge amount of time to try to improve what you have so that becomes a restriction. Pairing with environmental groups is one of our goals.
